First time at an orchestra concert? Perfect. Here’s everything you need to know, and none of it is complicated.

What do I wear?

Whatever you’d wear to a Sunday afternoon out. Jeans are great. You’ll see the orchestra in concert black, but that’s our uniform, not your dress code.

How long is the concert?

About 90 minutes to two hours, with a 10- to 15-minute intermission to stretch, refill your water, grab a tasty treat and talk about what you just heard.

When do I clap?

Applaud at the end of each piece. If a movement moves you, go ahead and clap; we’re not purists. During the music, we ask for no talking or snacking, so everyone can hear the quiet parts too.

What about my phone?

Silence it for the music. Photos and short clips are welcome, and we’d love to see them: tag us @sevenhillssymphony.

What should I listen for?

Before every concert, we put out a free listening guide: three moments to watch for, in about three minutes, so you walk in knowing where the good stuff is. [Get the listening guide Button Here]

Where do I park?

Park free in the main lot at Walnut Hills High School, then follow the crowd and the music to the auditorium.

Can I bring my kids?

Yes, please. Sunday afternoon is a great first concert for young listeners. If someone needs a wiggle break, step out to the lobby and slip back in between pieces, no apology needed.
